Yesterday, on a super bright and reasonably hot (32 degree) day, we ventured off to the West Sydney suburb of Merrylands for a real estate drone photography shoot. The conditions were prime for the commercial debute of our new DJI Smart Controller.

Somewhere, buried amongst these trees is an incredibly old and rundown dwelling with and incredibly deep backyard.

As always, we’ll take a front and side Nadir shot, and 360 degree photos of the property at 40, 80 and 120 metre altitudes.

This is the first professional shoot since upgrading to the DJI Mavic 2 Pro with Smart Controller bundle. What an absolutely brilliant drone the M2P is. The DJI Smart Controller has received a bit of backlash since its announcement due to the hefty price of a standalone unit, and we definitely agree. However, bundled with the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, it comes down to nearly half price. A much more appealing prospect.

Yesterday’s shoot proved that purchasing the Smart Controller was a great decision. The 1,000 nit display (roughly twice the brightness of a typical smart phone or tablet) had absolutely no problem battling the ultra-bright sunlight.
